Provosty & Gankendorff’s maritime practice encompasses a depth of capabilities in admiralty and maritime law, including work related to transactions, litigation, and defense. We address trade and commerce issues related to the Jones Act, employment issues regarding the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA), and liability issues concerning the Death on the High Seas Act (DHSA). Additional maritime cases we work on include environmental suits, toxic torts, and casualty investigations.
Since Provosty & Gankendorff is based in Louisiana, we naturally work with many operators in the Gulf of Mexico. Our clientele includes ferry operators, wildlife and fisheries operations, oil and gas marine mobilization operators, marine pipeline operators, marine flood protection operators, owners of seagoing vessels – whether tankers, passenger liners, off-shore drilling platforms, or cargo ships – as well as port operators. Provosty & Gankendorff also represents charter companies, dock owners, ship pilots, and othermaritime businesses. Our diversity of clientele and wide range of specialties mean we are adept at addressing whatever issues arise for our clients that happen in the course of running their businesses in the maritime and oil-and-gas industries.
